“This quilt depicts an Atlantic salmon in the ocean chasing after small, silver fish. They are anadromous fish – beginning their lives in fresh water and migrating to the ocean to feed and grow for 1-3 years before returning to their river of birth to spawn. This species captured my attention many years ago and inspired me to take up fly fishing.

The salmon is pieced and then appliquéd to the tie-dyed background that I purchased a number of years ago. The little silver fish are made of silk and machine appliquéd.”
