Art on the Farm

Spend time with Kristina Rodanas, our Artist-in-Residence, as we explore the farm through an artist’s eyes. We’ll use observation, critical thinking, and creativity to discover more about the plants, animals, landscape, and history of Billings Farm. Participants will learn about historic crafts, hear and write poetry, look for patterns and colors on the farm and take home their own seed sculptures and piece of landscape art.

Tools of the Trade: Technology and Farming

Learn about the tools and technologies used on a farm and how they have evolved over the years. We’ll look at artifacts from our collections and compare them to modern-day tools, then see for ourselves how the right technology can make a job easier. Students will thresh and grind grain, learn about milking, churn butter, see the farm’s oxen in action, and more.
