|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 9:00 am on Wednesday, repeating until September 25, 2019

Story Activity Time for Preschoolers will be offered Wednesday mornings in September, from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Each program will feature a story, visit to the farm, hands-on activity, and snack. The cost is $3.00 per person for Billings Farm & Museum members, and $5.00 per person for non-members (includes admission to the Farm & Museum).

Sept. 4: The Sunflower House.  Have you ever played in a house made of sunflowers? Join us as we read the story The Sunflower House, in our very own sunflower house! We will visit our sunflower fairy garden too, make a sunflower craft and share a sunflower shaped snack with friends.

Sept. 11: Scarecrow’s Hat. Chicken likes Scarecrow’s hat and wants it for herself. Scarecrow will trade his hat for a walking stick but Chicken doesn’t have a walking stick. Follow Chicken on her journey as she meets and trades with her farm friends. We’ll enjoy a healthy snack, visit with our chickens and scarecrows and create a chicken to take home.

Sept. 18: Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall. Do you know the signs of fall? This colorful book will help us identify them before we walk around the farm looking to see if we can find our own signs of fall. We will make leaf people and enjoy a fall snack with friends.

Sept. 25: From Apple Trees to Cider, Please!

July 31: Farmer’s Garden. Apple season is here! After reading this wonderful story about apples, we will take a walk to our orchard, pick some apples and press them into cider. Continuing the
apple theme, we will share a snack made from this favorite fall treat.
