Learn about the history of Wassail and step back in time to Victorian Christmas past, Friday, December 12 – Sunday, December 14, 10:00AM – 4:00PM.
Enjoy the festive holiday tree and decorations that fill the Visitor Center and historic barn. Discover the charm of Victorian Christmas as you explore our authentically decorated farmhouse parlor.
Experience the age-old tradition of wassailing the orchard at Billings Farm. Sing songs and share bread and cider with the trees to chase away spirits. This festive celebration protects the orchard and welcomes a bountiful apple crop for the year ahead.
Warm Wassail punch, made from a mulled blend of citrus juice and spices, will be available for purchase – no admission required.
On the farm, you can meet our Jersey cows, draft horses, chickens, sheep, and goats in the barns and enjoy a horse-drawn sleigh or wagon ride through the picturesque pastures, conditions permitting, from 11:00AM-3:00PM on select days.
Dip your own candle to take home. Warm up by the outdoor firepits with a cup of cocoa, available for purchase in the Museum Gift Shop. Light adventure can be found on a snowshoe, hike, or cross-country ski along the Ottauquechee River, weather permitting.
Shop for the holidays in the Museum Gift Shop. Peruse our unique selection of local Vermont gifts, children’s books, adorable stuffies, specialty food items, and, of course, Billings Farm cheddar! There’s sure to be something for everyone on your list! (No admission required.)
