DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJunior Farmer Camp\, is designed to help kids discover for themselves by stepping into a farmer’s shoes for a week. \nJunior Farmer Camp is as hands-on as it gets. Campers will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the farm’s cows\, horses\, chickens\, and sheep while learning the work that goes into the food we eat. In addition to daily farm chores and activities\, we will explore a different farming topics like dairy\, gardening\, tractors\, and draft animals. Other fun camp activities include: \n\nTaking a hayride through the farm fields\nHaving a pizza party with garden fresh ingredients\nParticipating in scavenger hunts around the farm\nTie dying a Junior Farmer Camp t-shirt\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCampers help with animal chores for the sheep\, goats\, chickens\, and heifers\, take tractor-drawn wagon rides\, play games\, and do gardening\, crafts\, and cooking. We will take advantage of the adjacent National Historical Park for hiking and learn about Vermont’s natural history. We can’t wait to see you at Junior Farmer Camp! \nOur response to COVID-19 will continue to be updated. Campers and parents will receive prior notice of all other safety precautions and processes implemented at the Farm & Museum.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAftercare Information:\nWe understand that everyone’s schedule is a little different and picking up your camper(s) can be a challenge at times. We’re happy to offer an aftercare option for families who are not able to make it to the 4:00 pm pick up time. \nAftercare runs from 4:00 pm – 5:15 pm\, Monday through Friday. Aftercare is only available for full-day camps (Junior Farmer Camp & Farm Discovery Camp). You may register your camper(s) for this option on a weekly basis for $60 per camper per week. Your payment holds you spot in aftercare\, and you can pay through our website after completing the camp forms. \nWe have a minimum attendance requirement to be able to provide this service. DESCRIPTION:Date: Tuesdays\, June 6\, 13\, 20\, 27\nTime:  5:30-7:30PM\nSeries Price:  $160/person\, $150 member\nAges:  16+ \nClick Here to Register \nExplore fascinating fiber fusion as this four-part series delves into the fleece to yarn process. Students will experience the transformative stages from evaluating and selecting materials to processing\, washing\, and carding raw wool in preparation for spinning.  In this class workshop instructor and owner of Aker Fiber Farm\, Patty Williams\, will demonstrate the difference between roving for fluffy consistency and combed top\, for a sleek and uniform result.  Students will also learn how to spin worsted-style ply which produces a bulky weight yarn that is great for knitting. \nNo prior experience is necessary to take this class.  Registration required in advance.  Students are welcome to bring fleeces\, spinning wheels\, drop spindles\, and carders. Equipment and materials are available for use. \nAbout Patty Williams: \nPatty Williams is the owner of Aker Fiber Farm in Enfield Center\, NH. Knitter\, spinner\, dyer\, designer\, and instructor\, Patty grew up in all things fiber. She truly lives the farm to fiber lifestyle\, and has had her own farm for ten years. She has been in fiber arts for over 30. She has taught fiber arts to folks of all ages for over 20 years up and down the east coast. Students will experience the transformative stages from evaluating and selecting materials to processing\, washing\, and carding raw wool in preparation for spinning.  In this class workshop instructor and owner of Aker Fiber Farm\, Patty Williams\, will demonstrate the difference between roving for fluffy consistency and combed top\, for a sleek and uniform result.  Students will also learn how to spin worsted-style ply which produces a bulky weight yarn that is great for knitting. \nNo prior experience is necessary to take this class.  Registration required in advance.  Students are welcome to bring fleeces\, spinning wheels\, drop spindles\, and carders. Equipment and materials are available for use. \nAbout Patty Williams: \nPatty Williams is the owner of Aker Fiber Farm in Enfield Center\, NH. Knitter\, spinner\, dyer\, designer\, and instructor\, Patty grew up in all things fiber. She truly lives the farm to fiber lifestyle\, and has had her own farm for ten years. She has been in fiber arts for over 30. She has taught fiber arts to folks of all ages for over 20 years up and down the east coast. This method works within the natural cycles\, climate\, and environment using perennial plantings.  Workshop instructor Ben Pauly will delve into the how and why of the Billings hügelkultur mound and share tips on how to incorporate permaculture relationships into home gardening. Celebrate nature’s productivity and take the first steps in becoming an effective ecological planner. \nAbout Ben Pauly\nMaster Gardener Ben Pauly is the Director of Property Operations and Design for the Woodstock Inn & Resort. He oversees all creative landscaping for the resort.
