“This pattern was published in 1890. Early pieced designs were relatively simple, pieced triangles, diamonds and squares with just a few pieces per block. Quiltmakers refer to them as beginner’s blocks.
The Bow Tie was published in the Ladies Art Co. Catalog in 1880 and is still a popular pattern today. Difficult Y-seams are the hardest to achieve and have them lie flat.”
