Rain or shine, workshop participants will visit the Billings Farmstead Gardens and explore the principles of no-till permaculture gardening. This method works within the natural cycles, climate, and environment using perennial plantings. Workshop instructor Ben Pauly will delve into the how and why of the Billings hügelkultur mound and share tips on how to incorporate permaculture relationships into home gardening. Celebrate nature’s productivity and take the first steps in becoming an effective ecological planner.
About Ben Pauly
Master Gardener Ben Pauly is the Director of Property Operations and Design for the Woodstock Inn & Resort. He oversees all creative landscaping for the resort. He conceptualized and created the Billings Farmstead Gardens and the 4-acre Kelly Way Gardens, and each year he designs and constructs the Sunflower House at Billings Farm & Museum. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm for gardening with his team and others in the community through workshops like the Billing Backyard Series.
