Billings Backyard Workshop: The Art of Spoon Carving

In this demonstration-based workshop, expert carver, Andre Souligny will guide participants through the process of transforming green wood into functional, handcrafted spoons.  Demonstrated techniques include riving, hatchet work, hand carving, and decorative detailing. The workshop also covers sourcing, preparing, and storing green wood, as well as proper care for carving tools.  Attendees will have the opportunity to try sanding and planing a piece of green wood and will take home a spoon blank for future carving projects!
