Gone Guys follows how boys and young men have steadily disengaged from school, work, and broader society. This 45-minute documentary illuminates these challenges through compelling personal stories, showing that it’s not an either-or choice: caring more about boys and men does not mean caring less about women and girls. Set in rural Vermont, the film brings national data to life with engaging animation accompanying lived experiences featuring those who are working to re-engage boys and young men in their communities and reshape their futures. Boys of Summer is an original NPR documentary that follows two boys at Vermont’s own Farm & Wilderness Timberlake summer camp. Free from screens and societal expectations, they learn to open up, support one another, and redefine what it means to be a boy. The film is a tender portrait of vulnerability, friendship, and the quiet rebellion of feeling deeply in a world that tells boys not to. View trailer here.

Guests can enjoy a free screening of these two short films and a post-film panel. Featuring Dan Smith, President & CEO of Vermont Community Foundation; John Kalapos, Timberlake Director at Farm & Wilderness; and Mike Loots, Wellness Educator at Woodstock Union High School and Middle School, the post-film panel will delve into the challenges facing young men and possible solutions. Light snacks and refreshments will be available.
