Early Learning Programs (Pre-K) - Billings Farm and Museum

Time: 9:30AM-11:00AM
Per Session Price: $12/child + one adult, $10/member child + one adult

Recommended for ages 3 & up
All sessions include a snack

This imaginative children’s program connects stories to hands-on experiences on the farm. Each month will feature a different farm-related book with a chance to do an activity around the site, make a craft, and enjoy a snack. This class is designed for preschool aged children, ages 3-5, and requires an adult companion.

One adult is admitted free with your paid child(children). Adult attendance is required. There is a limit of one adult per child. Your registration fee does not cover admission to Billings Farm & Museum, but you are more than welcome to purchase admission if you would like to visit the site after the program.  Billings Farm & Museum will be open for general admission for the Pre-K Story Time session in April and from June through October.

Younger siblings are welcome to join their parent or guardian during the program, but will not participate in the Pre-K craft and activities which are designed for children ages 3-5. A coloring area will be available during the program for younger children.

Wonderful Winter

Winter is the time for bundling up, playing in the snow with a new snowman friend, and catching snowflakes on your tongue before winter fades to spring. Following a wintry story read aloud, children will have a snack, make hot cocoa, and visit the sheep and goats. The session will include a snack of strawberries and animal crackers. Outdoor clothing recommended.

Stranger in the Woods

Forest animals, awakened by the birds’ warning that there is a stranger in the woods, set out to discover a wonderful surprise. Following the story, children will take their own woodland adventure into the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park, to look for signs of animals with a park ranger and to build a snowman, weather permitting. This includes a snack of carrot sticks and hummus.

Not Now, Cow

Rooster and his farm friends are ready for springtime play. But not Cow, who can’t seem to dress for the weather. This tale brings laughter and learning as Cow wears mittens in spring, ski-pants and wool in summer, and a bathing suit and flip flops in winter. Children will learn about the seasons and join the chorus of “Not NOW, Cow!” Following the story there will be a four-seasons sorting craft and a snack.
