“Berkeley is based on a photograph on the Billings Farm & Museum website of a Berkshire pig. I was looking for something entirely different when I stumbled upon that photo. I knew immediately he was my next project and wrote to Marge Wakefield last November for permission to work from that photo. Thankfully, Marge said, ‘yes!’ Marge also informed me the pig in the photo was no longer on the planet. In his stead, Berkeley lives.

Berkeley is a pandemic quilt, my ‘pandemic pig.’ Everything in the quilt, from the fabric to the backing, the batting to the threads, were all supplies I had on hand. He was a joy to build and even more so to quilt. Berkeley resides over the mantel in my studio and reminds us to smile each day.”
