Led by Master Composter, Andy Scherer, this session covers the essentials of starting and maintaining a backyard “cool” compost system along with the chemistry behind decomposition. Participants will learn how to avoid common mistakes, troubleshoot issues, and implement best practices. The workshop also highlights the environmental benefits of composting, from reducing waster to enriching garden soil. Plus, attendees will enjoy a guided tour of the Billings Farmstead Gardens compost system.
