As part of the Woodstock Foundation, each site will also be honoring the legacy of Laurance S. Rockefeller, a visionary whose passion for conservation, sustainability, and heritage has left a profound and lasting impact on Woodstock.
Enjoy garden tours, tastings, live music, family activities, and inspiring programs across three of Woodstock’s most iconic gardens.
Billings Farm & Museum
Marvel at the Sunflower House where more than 50 varieties of sunflowers in all colors and sizes will fill you with wonder. Stroll through the Farmstead Garden, which features Heirloom, Victory, Pollinator, Permaculture, Chef’s, Pizza, and Herb gardens, all demonstrating practices you can use in your own home garden. Join guided garden tours, attend an Herbal Tea Happy Hour, hand craft a herbal tea bag, and watch a natural dyeing demonstration. Children can enjoy Garden Story Time, Sensory Play in the gardens, and lawn games.
Food options include Heidi’s Hot Dogs or the MOOvable Feast Food Truck and Vermont-made ice cream and savory snacks from the Farmhouse Scoop Shop (available for purchase.)
In tribute to Laurance Rockefeller’s legacy and positive impact, Billings Farm will offer free admission to VT and NH residents on Aug 23. Please check in at the admissions desk to show a valid NH or VT id.

Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park
At Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park, the estate gardens reflect generations of stewardship. Join Park Ranger-guided tours of the Four Square Garden, Waterfall Garden, and Mary Rockefeller’s Cutting Garden. Bring a picnic blanket and listen to the Vermont Fiddle Orchestra from 11:00AM-2:00PM. Additional activities include mini bouquet making (while supplies last), botanicals crafts, ice cream making, and more!
National Park admission and garden programs are all free of charge.
The Woodstock Inn & Resort’s Kelly Way Gardens showcases a production garden supplying fresh products to the Woodstock Inn & Resort’s restaurants. They will host their 10th Annual Great Tomato Tasting from 1:00PM – 2:00PM, featuring over 50 varieties, followed by a Q&A session and tour of the tomatoes grown in the garden’s high tunnel. Experience a Sound Bath, take a Family Sensory Tour, delve into the ‘What’s in Bloom Programs’, and make fresh berry ice cream.
A shuttle service will be available to transport guests to Kelly Way Gardens from the Billings Farm/National Park parking lot.
The Tomato Tasting, all programs, and entrance to Kelly Way Gardens are free of charge and open to all.
