One event on October 6, 2022 at 10:00 am
Our Sunflower House opens on July 30, kicking off a month of celebrating our local pollinators. This year’s mandala-inspired living labyrinth will welcome guests to roam, play, and take lots of photographs! Filled with over 100 different varieties of sunflowers, with heights from 18 inches to 14 feet, the space will feature broad brush strokes of blooms of all shapes and sizes with a colorful palette ranging from orange and red to golden yellow.
Enter the Sunflower House Instagram Challenge by posting your best Sunflower House photos and tagging @billingsfarm using #VTSunflowerHouse for a chance to win Billings Farm’s cheese! One winner will be selected each Thursday from August 11 through September 8.
Join us for Sunflower Sunday on August 21, 9AM – 9:45AM
Billings Farm & Museum would like to invite the community to enjoy a quiet, mindful morning experience as the Sunflower House reaches full bloom. Sunflower Sunday begins with breathing exercises to ground and center guests, followed by light stretching, and yoga-inspired movement. A mindful stroll among the blooms and a seated meditation will culminate this reflective moment. Complimentary herbal tea will be served after the class. This event is free to all. Check in begins at 8:45AM and closes at 9:10AM. Please register online in advance to reserve your space.
Roundup for Ukraine in August
As guests take in the beauty of the Sunflower House, Billings Farm & Museum also asks them to take a moment to reflect on the people of Ukraine as they fight for sovereignty. The sunflower is not only the national Ukrainian flower but also signifies happiness, optimism, and peace. To help show support, Billings Farm will donate 100% in round up contributions from all sales during the month of August to the World Central Kitchen for their work to help feed Ukrainians who have fled their homes.
