This showing takes place on Saturday, February 8 at 3:00PM in the Billings Farm & Museum Visitor Center Theater.
Frida is an intimately raw and magical journey through the life, mind, and heart of iconic artist Frida Kahlo. First time director Carla Gutiérrez uses Kahlo’s own words and artwork to craft a fitting tribute to the artist’s legacy. Focusing on both the persona and the artist, Gutiérrez creates an often-entrancing immersive experience that mixes Kahlo’s reenacted thoughts and recollections, with her paintings, archival footage, and personal photos. The filmmaker’s meticulous distillation of Kahlo’s creativity develops alongside a growing insight into the painter’s unforgettable personality and distinctive vision.
If you want to immerse yourself in Frida Kahlo, here is the real thing.” –Hollywood Reporter
