Ready to Say “Awww” for the Cutest Event of the Year? Baby Farm Animal Celebration at Billings Farm & Museum
WOODSTOCK, VERMONT… Get ready for the cute and cuddly, soft and fuzzy fun of the Baby Farm Animal Celebration at Billings Farm & Museum on April 9 & 10, 10AM – 5PM.
Meet the newborn animals up close and personal. Pet lambs and goat kids. Hold a peeping chick or quacking duckling. Meet Jersey calves, piglets, and bunnies, and learn all about the animals and how they are cared for on the farm. Animal encounters will be spread throughout the farm with stations in the Chicken Barn, Wagon Barn and Show Barn. Calf, sheep and goat ambassadors will also be walking around the site led by Farm Educators and Interpreters.
Young guests can make an adorable chick or piglet pom-pom craft to take home. Families can follow the StoryWalk, where page-by-page, the story of “Woolbur” unfolds on signs along the pasture fence or look for the lambs hidden within the Farm Life exhibits.
Celebrate the renewal of springtime by planting an heirloom seed in a peat pot to take home. Fun meets history as guests can choose from a variety of heirloom seeds including Double Dwarf Nasturtium, Jacob’s Cattle Shelling Bean, Straight Eight Cucumber, Lincoln Shelling Pea, and Mammoth Sunflower. Nurture the seeds in your home garden and watch them bloom into beautiful flowers or delicious veggies.
Stop by the Farmhouse Café for delicious Vermont-made ice cream, snacks and drinks. Sample our Billings Farm Smoked, Woodstock Reserve and Butter Cheddar cheeses. Curb your appetite with traditional American BBQ from The Wicked Awesome BBQ Food Truck, which will be parked on site at Billings all weekend long, serving food from 11AM – 4PM.
