Think Like a Farmer, a STEAM Program
Farmers are some of the most creative inventors and problem solvers in the world. In this class, held onsite at Billings Farm, we’ll take inspiration from their ingenuity during four sessions of creative making and problem solving. We’ll learn about simple machines, physics, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) concepts hands-on while designing and building contraptions. Each session, students will create an invention in response to a weekly prompt outlining a problem to solve. Recycled materials and tools will be provided, but bringing a notebook for planning is encouraged!
This weekly, in-person class will be limited to 12 students per session and will follow Billings Farm’s Safety Pillars requiring social distancing, face coverings and health screenings, and all CDC and Vermont state guidelines.
