Yankee Brass Band Brings Melodies of the Late 19th Century to Billings Farm & Museum on Saturday, July 30th
The Yankee Brass Band’s annual tour is making a stop at Billings Farm & Museum on Saturday, July 30 at 2PM. Guests can enjoy this lively concert, which is included in the price of admission, on the beautiful Billings Farm lawn.
Each summer, the members of the Yankee Brass Band assemble from across the country to perform five old-fashioned American band concerts in New England. Billings Farm & Museum is thrilled to be hosting one of the select concerts on July 30. Using rare and authentic period instruments and outfitted in historic uniforms, musicians in this “historically informed performance” will entertain guests with melodies of the late 19th century.
Admission to Billings Farm & Museum includes the Animal Barns, Vermont Farm Life Exhibits, the newly expanded Farmstead Gardens and the 1890 Farm Manager’s House. The 1890 Farm Manager’s House features the creamery, the kitchen and in-home innovations that were considered state-of-the art for the time. Visitors can meet the farm’s cows, draft horses, sheep, goats, and chickens in the barns and scenic pastures, and stop by the Farmhouse Café for a root beer float, delicious Vermont-made Wilcox ice cream and other snacks from 11AM -5PM.
