Billings Farm & Museum’s 36th Annual Quilt Exhibition People’s Choice Awards Announced
Billings Farm & Museum is pleased to announce the results of the 2022 People’s Choice Awards for the 36th Annual Quilt Exhibition held June 4 – July 10. More than 6,000 visitors viewed the exhibition, and 750 ballots were cast for favorites in both the large and small quilt categories.
The People’s Choice winners are:
Large Quilts:
1st– Stories by Kathleen Geagan of Brownsville
2nd– Lock Down #1 by Sherry Bingham of Weathersfield
3rd– My Blue Heaven by Erma Hastings of Hartford
Small Quilts:
1st– Big Sur Sunset by Norma Ippolito
2nd– Martha by Linda Diak
3rd– Familiar Mountains by Natalie Frost
The Activity Barn at Billings Farm & Museum has been transformed by the incredible display of color and design of the 44 artfully crafted quilts in the 36th Annual Quilt Exhibition. The exhibition features contemporary quilts made by Windsor County Quilters, challenge quilts using neckties by the Delectable Mountain Quilters, and historical quilts with optical illusion patterns from the museum’s collection. The winning quilts can be viewed daily through July 10 from 10AM to 5PM. The Quilt Exhibition is included in the price of admission.
Quilt enthusiasts are invited to become Quilt Exhibition volunteers. Volunteers engage with guests and facilitate the quilt scavenger hunt while surrounded by beautiful, local quilts. The Billings Farm Volunteer Program is a way to make meaningful connections with the Billings community. There are flexible time slots available through July 10.
