Billings Backyard: Visible Mending

This hands-on mending workshop will explore this decorative approach to extending the life of clothing and textiles, which emphasizes the creative possibilities of repairing rather than discarding. Participants will learn skills in sewing, darning, and appliqué along with embellishment through fancy stitching.  From addressing large holes to intricate decorative work, participants will breathe new life into worn garments and take home mending skills.  With just a needle, thread, and scissors, and a treasured textile to revitalize, participants will not only save money but also help reduce clothing waste in landfills.

The session will be followed by a 30-minute Q&A.
